Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
To play along just do the following:
Pivot Point by Kasie West.
So here’s a marketing thing that totally got me, and I’m not ashamed to admit it: Epic Read’s offer of the whole book online for the duration of the weekend before last. And the really good news is that the sequel is already out as well! There are advantages of discovering a series late(r). But seriously, as much as I dread decisions sometimes, this ability to determine the outcome in advance would probably cripple me. I love to read about it though. The word definitions at the beginning of each chapter are quite fun as well and add a nice touch to the book.
How are your decision-making abilities? Let's hear from you in the comments and share your teaser choice of the week.
To play along just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Pivot Point by Kasie West.
Pivot Point – HarperTeen |
My father was a human lie detector—although my mom didn’t like it when I called him that; the technical term was Discerner—and he could immediately tell if I lied. He said he could even tell when I planned to lie. Irritating.

“I don’t know. I try not to take Rowan too seriously. It’s been my downfall many times.”
— Chapter 16

Now that's a pretty good skill to have but it sucks for the daughter.

I'm really indecisive! These days, I think I'd be lost without review schedules & challenges to order my reading habit ;p
& I agree with Vonnie there... would love to have that skill with my child but sucks if my dad have had it!
Was tempted to read this too... I saw the offer but plate's a bit full, hope you're enjoying it!

Here is my Teaser Tuesday
Great teaser--hope you're enjoying this book. I liked it and my husband will be reading it soon too!
Great parental skill -- not so good for the kid.
I'd hate to know what the outcome of all my decision were from the outset! I don't think I'd ever be able to make a decision again! Thanks for sharing :)

Great teaser although I think it is probably better not to know any outcome before you make a decision, sometimes all options are fairly unpalatable!
Ooh, that's a very useful skill to have for any parent. Great teaser!
My dad could always tell when I was lying! I still don't know how he did that.
My Teaser is from SINFUL FOLK.
Cool teasers! The father's ability is quite terrifying lol
My Teaser
I don't know what I would do if my father was a human lie detector. x.x It's a scary thought!
Here's my Teaser Tuesday.
